But guess what! Now life has supplied yet another way to test the strength of your relationship -- with an escape room experience! If you’ve ever played an escape game, you know that they are full of surprises, excitement, challenges, frustration, and so much more. And as we all know, this is also the case with life. Because of these similarities, there are many lessons that you can apply to escape rooms, as well as to your everyday life, in order to live more happily and more successfully. Here are the five lessons that we think are the most important, and the most easily applied to both escape rooms and everyday life…

The simple definition of addiction, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is “an unusually great interest in something, or a need to do or have something.” There are countless addictions out there - to substances, to technology, to food, to shopping, to activities - and unfortunately, a great deal of these addictions are harmful and/or dangerous. Luckily, being addicted to escape games is not one of the dangerous ones. In reality, having a Room To Escape addiction is far from harmful or dangerous. It is actually quite beneficial to you! Can you believe it? You’re in the clear! Is that a weight lifted off your shoulders, or what?!

When you’re on a team, it is not unnatural for you to want to do great, impressive things that gain recognition and praise from your teammates and others around you. You want to feel appreciated and valued as a person, so you try hard to get that special attention. Despite this, it is important to not forget that you should still be doing these things for the good of the entire team, and not just for yourself. When you’re part of a team, it is the team that matters most in the long run. Furthermore, the relationship you have with your teammates is what is most vital to accomplishing tasks and reaching goals. Individual strengths and talents are important, but team relationships and effective teamwork is crucial.
