We’ve all heard the saying, “April showers bring May flowers,” but does that mean May is a dry month?
According to USClimateDate.com, Fort Wayne’s rainiest month of the year is actually May, not April as conventional wisdom suggests. The National Weather Service archive also shows higher rainfall totals for May than for April.
So, what’s a fun-loving person to do when it’s raining in May? Play indoors! At Room to Escape, we’ll challenge your brain with fun activities, puzzles, and ciphers. You can come in from the rain and unwind with us all month long. Click here to reserve your escape experience!
Play Inside With Us
Don’t just stay inside when it rains this Spring. Put yourself inside the game. Room to Escape is like a board game that’s come to life. You’ll escape the ordinary (and the rain) as you work with your team to find clues, crack codes, and unlock doors.
Here’s a TripAdvisor review from one of our happy customers:
“Possibly the best group activity I've ever participated in. This was the first escape room I had ever gone to. I had no idea what to expect, and at first I was sort of confused. But once you start to figure things out and get involved in cracking the puzzles, it's great fun. I definitely want to come back and do more rooms soon.” - Visited March 2017

Room To Escape offers more than fun. Our escape room experiences can also help with team-building, too! Many corporations and not-for-profits send their employees our way each week, and we’re a great activity for sports teams as well.
How can Room To Escape help build trust on your team? Groups of up to twelve people work together to crack codes, solve puzzles, and open locks. Experiences are timed at one hour and team members MUST work together and communicate openly to achieve success.
Our escape rooms are recommended for players ages 8 and up, and they’re great for groups of mixed ages. Coaches, parents, and team mates have the opportunity to contribute equally and use their unique skill set for the benefit of the group.
Here are some of the team-building skills that an escape experience helps to foster:
Communication is essential to a successful escape experience. Puzzles and ciphers are designed with groups in mind, and a successful escape often requires two or more people to move from one step to the next.
Team members must work together to escape. Friction and disagreement are normal in problem-solving situations, but at Room To Escape teams have just sixty minutes to find their way out. It’s time to start making decisions that benefit the whole group!
The relationship that a coach forms with his or her team is equally important to the relationships formed among team members. An escape experience helps to build trust as everyone works toward a common goal.
Goals (both short- and longer-term)
The goal at Room To Escape is to open a series of locks and escape the room in less than one hour. This is the “longer-term” goal, like winning a sporting match. However, a win is only achieved after a series of short-term goals have been met. Teams must work together to prioritize their time and solve the smaller puzzles before the larger goal can be met.
The contributions of the individual matter in an escape room. At Room To Escape, everyone’s unique talents and skills have a chance to shine as the team solves a series of discrete but interwoven puzzles.
So what are you waiting for? Book a team-building escape experience today!
